Responding to Sandy through coordination, cooperation


With more than 4,000 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the United States, it’s important that we have an organized response no matter where disaster strikes. Since 2001, our Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been vital in supporting our stores – and their surrounding communities – in times of crisis.

Not only does our EOC provide logistical coordination to ensure we have merchandise like bottled water and flashlights stocked for our customers, but the center also works with the Walmart Foundation and organizations such as the American Red Cross to understand how our company can assist with recovery.
