The iconic Clorox Liquid Bleach jug you’ve seen for seemingly forever may soon become a collectible. That’s because a more modern, slimmed down version that’s easier to use is replacing it. The new concentrated Clorox® Bleach products are already in many Walmart stores today and are making their way into every Walmart throughout the country over the next month or so.
In addition to being easier to use, the new concentrated Clorox® Bleach products will help minimize our company’s environmental footprint. These products will use approximately 20 percent less of many different materials each year: energy (light bulb hours), water, paper and plastic. That’s a lot of 20 percents adding up to a 100 percent commitment by Clorox to do the right thing when it comes to environmental sustainability.
Beyond the eco-benefits, the new concentrated Clorox® Bleach products new formula will improve whitening on clothes. And the streamlined bottles are easier to handle, easier to pour and easier to use. This helps solve an issue that we heard from people about bleach – the bottle was bulky and heavy to pour.
Finally, this new product was driven by a change in how washing machines are being made. You’ve probably noticed most new washing machines are High-Efficiency (HE) machines. These HE machines have a smaller dispenser for bleach (often times the dispenser holds only ½ cup). To ensure people use the recommended amount to whiten, Clorox concentrated its bleach products. Half of a cup is now the recommended dose in HE washing machines. And the new concentrated Clorox® Bleach products contain the same number of uses per bottle, which means the cost per use is the same as the Clorox® Regular-Bleach people have been using for years.
All in all, it’s a win for everyone in terms of bigger performance and smaller packaging.

I hope it comes in Splashless as well. It is hard to pour regular bottles into the washers without the run down the bottle at which can get on you and your cloths and ruin them.
This change isn’t something I’m comfortable with yet. I grew up using bleach as a disinfectant and this just seems “offish” to me. I hope I have the same results I’ve come to depend on with regular bleach.
Smaller bottle size is nice, but the packaging lies … the new small bottle is more concentrated than the old big bottle, but not enough to make up for the smaller size.BEFORE: 182oz * 6% chlorine = 10.92 oz of chlorine per bottleNOW: 121oz * 8.25% chlorine = 9.98 oz of chlorine per bottle9 percent less chlorine for the same price :/ Not great news for my swimming pool … sometimes less is just less.
