Protecting the environment across the pond

A Bloomberg story about U.K. retailers using food waste as an alternative fuel got us thinking. Our retailer, Asda, is mentioned specifically for sending expired meat and bread to bioenergy sites that convert the waste into electricity. But diverting food waste is just one of the company’s activities that help reduce costs as well as environmental impact.

You can read about all of Asda’s sustainability efforts here, but here’s a quick look at what the company is doing to reduce waste from all sorts of products.
