No one has all the answers for the best way to protect the environment. And although Walmart has several plans – and goals – in place to reduce our impact, we’re always exploring new methods of contributing toward them. But sometimes just having a goal at all can make a big difference, according to a blog post published yesterday on CNBC.com.

The author, Terry Tamminen, president of Seventh Generation Advisors and former secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency, wrote that Walmart’s objective to one day be powered completely by renewable energy puts our efforts “in an important context for stimulating innovation and measuring progress.”
