Many of us try to live sustainably in all aspects of our lives—from food to lighting to even cleaning. In fact, green cleaning products have become more popular over the past few years. But with so many to choose from, it sometimes can be difficult for small brands, like PRIDEClean®, to break through the clutter. That’s why we were excited to partner with five Walmart stores in California to sell our PRIDEClean products. These stores are part of a pilot program, with plans to expand distribution locally and nationally pending successful product sales.

Though PRIDE Industries makes environmentally friendly cleaning products, we haven’t always sold directly to consumers. Each day, PRIDE services more than 30 million square feet of facility space across the country, and we began by making our own line of cleaning products for commercial use.  Our products were born out of a desire to provide a professional strength, environmentally responsible and budget-friendly alternative for our facilities customers who wanted to “go green” measurably and efficiently, without sacrificing quality. PRIDEClean® products were developed for, and tested in, some of the most challenging cleaning environments – including military bases, schools and airports, yet they are safe enough for the family home.

PrideClean bottleIt was our commercial customers who urged us to develop products for home use.  At their suggestion, we decided to expand our offerings to consumers to provide more choices for those who want to live environmentally friendly lives.

We take sustainability seriously, and all PRIDEClean consumer products have earned DfE (design for environment) designation (a premier partnership program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) and contain no ammonia or toxic by-products. In addition to their environmentally friendly chemicals, our products come in a unique package. The products feature 21 ounces of ready-to-use cleaner and a squeezable compartment with six concentrated refills in every bottle, saving people money while reducing their environmental footprint.  PRIDEClean products are also biodegradable and come in recyclable containers, reducing packaging and transportation waste as well.

Though our products are environmentally friendly, PRIDE Industries isn’t your run-of-the-mill green company. We believe that living sustainably isn’t just about products, but also about people. In fact, PRIDE is one of the nation’s largest employers of people with disabilities, with more than 2,800 workers with disabilities currently employed.  We are extremely proud that each purchase of PRIDEClean helps to create jobs for those most often excluded from employment, as people with disabilities play an integral part in the production of PRIDEClean products by packaging and labeling all of them. So now Walmart shoppers in California have the opportunity to not just clean, but clean with PRIDE.
