Rules of Engagement
Welcome to The Green Room, a new blog that we hope to develop into a vibrant conversation about how to create a more sustainable world to help people live better. We will share our thoughts and ideas, and we invite you to do share yours, too.
Here are a few engagement guidelines that we hope you will follow:
- Respect comments moderation: All comments submitted to this blog are moderated before publication, to make sure that they are relevant and appropriate. We reserve the right to refuse publication of submitted comments as deemed necessary to foster a healthy, respectful community. We monitor the blog and moderate comments during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm CT. During these hours we’ll aim to review all comments within 2 hours. Comments submitted outside of business hours, or over the weekend, will be reviewed on the next working day.
- Respect the law: When commenting, don’t do anything that breaks the law.
- Show respect and be polite, even if you disagree. Excessive, foul language, violent, sexual bullying or otherwise inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
- Stay on topic. Keep the conversation relevant to the community and contribute to the dialogue. We reserve the right to remove off-topic, out of context, spam or promotional postings.
- Keep it real. All comments should come from a real person, identified with a name and an email address. Email addresses will not be displayed, and they will be used only for contacting the person who leaves comments, if necessary.
- There is a place for customer service questions, complaints or concerns. If you have a comment, complaint, or concern, we encourage you to post it on Walmart’s Facebook Feedback tab, to ensure that we can respond in a timely manner. As always, if you would like to comment about customer service or any other issue you can visit Walmart Stores Feedback or call 1-800-Walmart.
If you are a Walmart associate, please follow these additional guidelines:
- Know the rules. Before engaging on this blog, make sure you read and understand Walmart’s Social Media Policy and Walmart’s Information Policy. In any and all interactions make sure that you don’t share confidential or private information about the Company’s business operations, products, services, or customers; respect financial disclosure laws; respect copyright and trademark laws; and do not say you speak for the Company without express written authorization from the Company to do so.
- Remember that we have a dedicated team tasked with responding to comments, inquiries or criticism. Please do not attempt to respond to customer inquiries, comments or criticism directed to the Company on this site.
- Use company established channels for work-related conversations. While we encourage associates to participate in conversations with our customers and other users, we ask you to direct your individual complaints or individual concerns to your store management team using the established Open Door Process or MyWalmart.com.
- For Walmart managers: If you are a manager, please make sure you are familiar with our Social Media Management Guidelines, available on the Walmart Wire.
