Deepening sustainability in the global supply chain

At an event in Beijing today, Walmart is further strengthening its commitment to a sustainable global supply chain by announcing new commitments designed to make products made and sold around the globe more sustainable.
The commitments shared in Beijing deepen and expand the work under way with the Sustainability Index, a reporting system and measurement tool developed by The Sustainability Consortium (TSC), an independent research organization. Continue reading

No matter the season, our energy commitment is always on

You may have noticed the signs for weeks — slightly shorter days, colder temperatures — but this past weekend made it official: goodbye summer and hello fall! As you might expect, it is more difficult to generate solar energy when the sunlight is less abundant, but the dozens of solar energy systems we installed this summer — including 14,000 new solar panels at our Buckeye, Ariz., distribution center — will still soak up the sun power so we can continue our commitment to renewable energy sources year round.
