Walmart President and CEO Mike Duke participated yesterday in “Designing for Impact,” the opening session of the Clinton Global Initiative. A Walmart store reinvented
Sustainability may be rooted in math and science, but there is always plenty of room for creativity. We’re always looking for new ways to reuse, recycle and rethink the way we operate. So it was exciting to see how the community of McAllen, Texas, took a unique approach to reinvent a former Walmart store when we left a location to open a larger store in the area. The city turned the empty space into a public library, and not just any library — the biggest single-story one in the country.
