The numbers behind zero waste
Today is America Recycles Day and there are simple steps all of us can take to reduce waste – and cut costs. At Walmart, one of our three big sustainability goals is to create zero waste and last year we worked towards this goal by recycling, donating food, and reusing organic material. As a result, we reduced the amount we send to landfill in the U.S. by 80 percent! For more on how we did it check out our infographic.

Celebrating a renewable energy milestone, U.S. Congressman Wally Herger joined Walmart in the northern California town of Red Bluff on Monday for a dedication ceremony at the company’s first large-scale wind turbine.
Walmart to announce new sustainability commitments in China
Walmart executives, U.S. and Chinese government officials, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and Walmart associates are meeting this week in Beijing, China, where our company will announce strengthened and expanded commitments to our global sustainability supply chain.
