Our solar program began in warmer climates, including California and Hawaii, and then expanded into Arizona, Puerto Rico and even Louisiana. Until recently, colder, snowy areas eluded us.

Women in Factories Training Program to empower more than 60,000 workers
Anju Ara, 27, moved from her home in Pabna, Bangladesh, to the capital of Dhaka to work in a garment factory with a dream to overcome poverty and have a better life.
Women make up the majority of the workforce in manufacturing industries around the world and help to produce many of the products in our stores.
A cool idea in freezer efficiency
In 2005, we partnered with General Electric to create and install our first LED freezer case lights at a Walmart in McKinney, Texas. They used 70 percent less energy and generated significantly less heat, which is important in a refrigerator.
